Tall verbena - Verbena bonariensis

Verbena bonariensis is an architecturally interesting plant with numerous small, bright violet-blue flowers on thin stems. It blooms from July to October and attracts bees and butterflies. Growing up to 140 cm tall, it is ideal for background planting in perennial borders and as a cut flower. The Royal Horticultural Society has awarded this plant an Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

Growing tips:
Light germinators. The seeds germinate irregularly over a longer period of time. Temperatures below +5 °C promote germination. Therefore, the seed trays should not be discarded too early. Constant humidity is important; direct sunlight should be avoided.
The plant prefers a sunny location with dry, well-drained soil. It is moderately hardy and blooms in the first year.
