Bleeding Heart - Dicentra spectabilis
The Bleeding Heart - Dicentra spectabilis enchants with its unique, heart-shaped flowers, bright pink with white tips, hanging from elegant, arching stems. This impressive perennial blooms from May to June and brings romantic charm to partially shaded gardens. Growing up to 90 cm tall, the Bleeding Heart is ideal for shady beds and borders and also makes an excellent cut flower.

Growing tips:
Sowing should initially take place for 2–4 weeks at temperatures of approximately 18–22 °C and should be kept well moist. A cold period of 4–6 weeks at -4 to +4 °C is then required to promote germination. After this period, the temperature should remain at 5–12 °C until germination is complete.
A partially shaded location with well-drained, humus-rich soil is optimal. After flowering, the withered stems can be removed. During the winter months, the bleeding heart requires no special protection because it is hardy.
