The feverfew ' Vegmo Single ' is a fragrant summer flower, very similar to chamomile, that provides insects with a food source throughout the summer. Its numerous, small flowers are ideal companions to other bedding perennials, especially in combination with roses. Its bushy growth and sturdy stems make it suitable as a cut and dried flower.
Details :
Sowing indoors/greenhouse: March to May
Sowing outdoors: April to May
Germination time: 14-21 days at 18-21°C
Sowing depth: Cover with a maximum of 0.5 cm of soil
Height: 70-90 cm
Planting distance: 30-40cm
Flower size: 1-3 cm
Flowering time: June to September
Soil: Loose, permeable soil
Fertilization: Fertilize regularly
Location: Sunny/partial shade
Water consumption: Medium
Growing tips :
Chrysanthemum parthenium is a light germinator, meaning the seeds should only be lightly covered with soil when sown. Four to six weeks after sowing, the main stem of the plant can be pinched to encourage the formation of side shoots. This will encourage more flowers and a bushier plant. Wind can be a problem, so a sheltered location or support is recommended. Pruning after the first bloom encourages a second bloom in the fall.
Cut flower :
Due to its long flowering period, feverfew is a perfect flower for summer bouquets. With regular water changes, feverfew will last for several days in a vase. Once almost all the flowers have opened, the plant can be harvested and used in a bouquet or dried for dried bouquets.
Use :
cut flower
dried flowers
Potted plant
Insect magnet
Bag contents :
approx. 25 seeds
Store in a cool, dry place.
