Borage - Borago officinalis 'Bianca'
White borage 'Bianca' is an annual herb that's ideal for use in small bouquets. Its small white flower heads and leaves and stems covered with tiny hairs also provide ample food for insects. The flowers and young leaves can be used to enhance dishes and have a cucumber-like flavor.

Growing tips :
Borage is best sown directly outdoors from April onwards. We've had good results soaking the seeds in warm water for 24 hours before sowing. Plants can grow quite lushly, so a sheltered location or support is advisable. Because the plant has deep roots, it's also used as a green manure. A sufficient planting distance of 30-40 cm is recommended, as the plant can be susceptible to powdery mildew if there is little air circulation.
