Borage - Borago officinalis

Growing tips:
Borage is best sown directly outdoors starting in April. We've had good results soaking the seeds in warm water for 24 hours before sowing. The plants can grow quite lush, so a sheltered location or support is advisable. Because the plant has deep roots, it is also used as a green manure. A sufficient planting distance of 30-40 cm is recommended, as the plant can be susceptible to powdery mildew if there is little air circulation.
