Millet - Setaria italica 'Red Jewel'
The robust foxtail millet 'Red Jewel' is an annual variety with green-red ears and leaves. The 15 cm long panicles lean slightly outward, creating a certain structure in bouquets and beds. Suitable for planting in both the garden and containers, the millet is very drought-tolerant and loves full sun. Overall, it requires little maintenance. They make great cut flowers, and their seeds are very nutritious for birds. If the seed heads are allowed to ripen in late summer, they will attract many wildlife species to the garden.

Cut flower :
Ornamental millet is beautiful in all stages, but as a cut flower it is easier to incorporate into bouquets before the panicles bend too much.
They can also be dried and make interesting main or secondary flowers in dried flower arrangements. To do this, cut the stems at the base before seed heads form. When dried, their color lasts for months.
