Growing tips:
One- to two-year-old stocks bloom in the first year if they are started in February/March. If sown later in June, they will bloom the following year. These relatively robust plants thrive best in a sunny, sheltered location in the garden. Stocks should not be cut back, as this will prevent flowering.
Cut flower:
Cut the flowers early in the morning or late in the evening when temperatures are cooler. This increases the shelf life of the cut flowers. The best time to harvest is when about one-third of the flowers on the stem are open.
