Rough coneflower - Rudbeckia hirta 'Prairie Sun'

With its bright lemon-yellow flowers and light green centers, the 'Prairie Sun' coneflower has a particularly bright and sunny appearance. Its flowers can grow up to 8 cm in size and are a real eye-catcher. This annual is a wonderful, long-blooming summer flower that's ideal for cutting.
The faded heads should be removed regularly to ensure abundant rebloom well into autumn. Bees and butterflies love the coneflower and swarm around it.

Growing tips :
The rough coneflower is a cool flower (cold germinator) and requires a cold stimulus. Sowing in the fall results in early flowering the following year.
The seeds can also be started in a warmer environment (18-20ºC) starting in February, and planted outdoors at the end of May. They require light to germinate (light germinators!) and should therefore only be lightly covered with soil. Keep slightly moist, but not too wet!
After the last frosts from around mid-May, it is also possible to sow the seeds directly outdoors.
