Growing tips :
Larkspur is one of the so-called "cool flowers" (cold germinators) and requires a cold stimulus (stratification) to germinate. For optimal germination conditions, you can sow it directly outdoors starting in February/March or, alternatively, in the fall. If you want to sow later, you should store the seeds in the refrigerator at approximately 4 degrees Celsius for about four weeks before planting them in the ground. We recommend pre-growing in pots.
Pruning after the first flowering period encourages a second flowering period in the fall. It's important to note that all parts of the plant, especially the seeds, contain alkaloids and are therefore toxic.
